Privacy Policy

What Listojo collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

Last updated August 5, 2026

Listojo, Inc. operates listojo.com from Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, and is the controller of the data described here.

01 Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — username, email address, first and last name, and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Phone number — if you choose to add one. Used for verification codes and, only if you opt in, SMS notifications.
  • Listing content — property address, price, description, photos, and the contact phone or email you attach to a listing. Listings are public by design.
  • Inquiries and messages — your name, email, optional phone, and the message text when you contact a lister. Guests can message without an account; we store the name and email given at that time.
  • Saved searches and alert preferences — the criteria you save and whether you want email or SMS alerts.
  • Waitlist signups — your email and requested city if Listojo is not yet open where you are.

Information collected automatically

  • Activity on listings — which listings you view, click, save, reject, or contact. We use this to rank results and improve match quality. It is tied to your account when you are signed in.
  • Approximate location — only if you allow your browser to share it. We convert the coordinates to a city name to show nearby listings, and we do not store the raw coordinates as part of your profile.
  • Session and security data — cookies that keep you signed in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, and distinguish real visitors from bots.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, credit reports, or background check data. Listojo is free to use and does not run tenant screening. We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell or rent inquiry contact details as sales leads.

02 How we use your information

  • To run your account and keep you signed in.
  • To publish the listings you post and deliver inquiries to the right lister.
  • To calculate match scores and rank search results against what you told us matters.
  • To send transactional messages — inquiry notifications, verification codes, and saved-search alerts you asked for.
  • To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To fix problems and understand which parts of the product work.

03 Services we share data with

We use service providers to operate Listojo. Each acts on our instructions, receives only what it needs for its specific function, and is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes. The categories are:

Category of providerWhat it receives
Hosting and databaseApplication data needed to run the service
Mapping and geocodingListing addresses and coordinates
AuthenticationYour email and name, if you use a third-party sign-in
Neighborhood dataListing coordinates, to return walkability and transit scores
Email and SMS deliveryYour email or phone number and the message content
Image storage and deliveryListing photos you upload
Security and bot protectionSignals used to tell real visitors from automated ones

We will name the specific providers in a category on request — email us at the address in section 8.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If Listojo is ever acquired, data may transfer as part of that transaction, and we will say so before it does.

04 What is public

Anything you put in a listing is public: the address, photos, description, and any contact details you add to it. Your username appears on listings you post. Search engines can index public listing pages. Do not put information in a listing that you would not want indexed. Inquiries and chat messages are private between you and the other party.

05 Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction — you can view and edit your profile and listings at any time from your account.
  • Deletion — you can delete individual listings yourself. To delete your account and associated personal data, contact us and we will action it.
  • Notification settings — email and SMS alerts are opt-in and can be turned off in your account. Transactional messages tied to an active inquiry may still be sent.
  • Location — browser location sharing is optional and controlled by your browser permissions.

Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, and to appeal a refusal. Residents of other states may have comparable rights. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

06 Retention and security

We keep account data while your account is open, and listing and inquiry records for as long as needed to operate the marketplace and meet legal obligations. Deleted listings may persist in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

Traffic is served over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, session cookies are secure and HTTP-only, and the database is managed with encrypted storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

07 Children

Listojo is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

08 Changes and contact

If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
